Texas A&M University-Commerce
Texas A&M University-Commerce founded in 1889 as East
Texas Normal College, offers more than 100 major fields of
study through 26 academic departments. Academic affairs is
composed of three Colleges:
- The College of Arts & Sciences
- The College of Business & Technology
- The College of Education
- Recognized academic excellence with a 17-to-1 student-teacher ratio
- New cutting-edge degree programs in industrial engineering, environmental science and athletic training
- A fully-accredited MBA degree program
- One of the best recreation centers in the Southwest
- Science & Technology Center with a state-of-the-art planetarium
Combined with the Graduate School and the Division of Continuing
Education, the University offers 86 undergraduate majors, 45 graduate
majors and 6 doctoral majors.
The main campus of the university is comprised of 121 buildings and is located on a 154-acre site in the southwest corner of the City of Commerce. There are an additional 1,696 acres of agricultural land owned by the University used primarily as an instructional laboratory by the Agricultural Sciences Department.
