Parks and Recreation Department (PARD)

The City of Commerce Parks and Recreation Department strives to provide our citizens with the opportunity to improve their lives through recreational programs, city events, and utilizing beautiful and safe outdoor parks and recreational facilities. Coming together to celebrate, contemplate and engage in activities that promote health, well-being and community unity and involvement.

Commerce PARD coordinates youth sports activities for boys and girls ages 4 – 18 in basketball, baseball, softball, t-ball and soccer.  Youth sports coaches are volunteers.  All coaches and assistant coaches must sign a release for a background check.  Individuals interested in coaching youth sports should contact the Parks Office at (903) 886-1150.

With two park units, you’ll find plenty of room to roam. Bring your fishing pole, your hiking shoes, your horse, your swimsuit–or heck, just bring yourself! We’re only 90 minutes northeast of Dallas.

The Texas A&M University- Commerce Outdoor Adventure Program offers adventure based learning opportunities for groups to develop as a team. Giving them the opportunity to enhance leadership, decision-making, and communication skills through an interactive process.

Sand Hills offers a challenging 9-hole golf course along with an outdoor swimming pool and club facilities including lunch and dinner dining.

The Commerce Skatepark Project Committee, under the nonprofit organization-Commerce Parks Foundation, is committed to building a quality skatepark within the grounds of Centennial Park, Commerce, TX.g.
