Classy! Classy is the first impression when you walk through the doors of Cork & Brew, located 1136 Main Street in downtown Commerce, TX.
The Rhodes and Selvaggi family business opened their doors Nov. 4, 2020 and joined the Commerce Chamber of Commerce during COVID. Staff and patrons wore their masks and faithfully enjoyed the casual atmosphere.
They renovated the 1889 building, doing their best to preserve its original character, including tearing down the plaster that had hidden the brick walls and uncovering the original tile ceiling. The floor was rotted so they had to replace it but were able to preserve several original joists to upcycle as decorative shelves and shiplap for the bar.
“I enjoyed Mugs during the day, but I wanted another casual, non-smoking place for evening,” Rose Selvaggi explained. “It is a place for the community to come together.”
In addition to their unique beer and wine flights, Cork & Brew offers a full menu of Charcuterie plates, panini sandwiches anddesserts.
For fun, they have bingo every other Thursday evening. Local musicians play a couple times a month. July events include: July 1- Friday: Live Music w/ Fred Erben; July 7- Thursday: B I N G O Night; July 15- Friday: Paint n’ Sip w/ Eclectic Cabin ; July 21- Thursday: B I N G O Night; July 29- Friday: Live Music w/ Janis Diane Thomas.
