Since becoming the Administrator of Oak Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation facility in November 2022, Lynne Northcutt and her staff have made several changes to the facility – a facelift and new programs. They have cleared out and opened rooms. Thanks to the investment made by Senior Living Properties, the facility has benefited from new floors, paint throughout, and updates to drains and plumbing.
“We want to offer our residents new things that have not been done before,” Lynne says. “As much as possible, we try to get them out into the community.”
Fun activities include a garden club, senior prom night and afternoon tea. A full activity calendar provides opportunities for enriching experiences. The IN2L big screen was provided to the facilities of Senior Living Properties through a grant. This program allows residents to interact with new and exciting games, programs, movies, and music. Residents also receive pet therapy visits and enjoy music and church services from members of the Commerce community.
Residents are delighted that the Chamber Bois D’Arc Bash parade and Christmas parade travel by Oak Manor in September and December. “They really enjoy being a part of the festivities; we are grateful the Chamber extended the route to cross Culver Street,” Lynne says. “It is important to me, as well as our staff and residents to be a part of the Commerce community.”
Oak Manor joined the Chamber last April. In addition, Lynne has become active in the community by joining the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and the Commerce Rotary Club.
The team at Oak Manor provides exceptional care to the residents. It’s a hometown facility with a big heart for serving seniors and those needing rehabilitation. Services include skilled nursing, rehabilitation services, long-term and short-term care, wound care management, respite care and hospice care.
Lynne has worked in various positions in nursing facilities such as admissions and marketing and business office manager. During the Covid outbreak in 2020, Lynne and her team at Leonard Manor, became the hub for caring for nursing home residents diagnosed with Covid. She holds a Masters in Healthcare Administration and is currently pursing a Doctorate in Business and is passionate about senior care.
